Olive Oil Tourism
Do you love olive oil? You can’t miss our olive oil tourism experience in Nigüelas. Our guided tour goes through the white village, its Moorish and Christian history through its ancestral irrigation method. We will walk through the centenary olive groves (Nazaríes) and we will visit the oldest and best preserved olive mill (oil mill) in southern Europe.
Donkey treckking trail
Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience as you join our friendly donkey duo, Margarita and her son Romero, for a delightful walk through the landscapes of the Sierra Nevada. Connect with nature while you enjoy the calm pace set by these lovable animals. Learn about the importance of donkeys in the local culture and history. Visit the village and the river with its beautiful cold-water waterfall.
Gastronomic Experience
Are you a lover of good food? If so, our traditional cooking classes experiences at Alquimia Verde are for you. Immerse yourself in the flavors of el Valle de Lecrin as you take a walk through our organic garden and learn to prepare a typical local dish using fresh produce that you’ve picked.
The Orange Blossom Trail
Are you a nature enthusiast who loves hiking? Join us on a guided tour through the wonders of the Valle de Lecrin. Explore centuries-old olive groves, remnants from the Nazari era, where towering trees up to 15 metres high create an ecosystem of oranges and lemon trees, almond trees and orchards/vegetable gardens beneath their branches. Taste fresh oranges in their season (February – May) or enjoy the scents and aroma of orange blossom in their flowering
period (September – March)
Alpujarra’s adventure
If you’re looking for a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience, come enjoy a gorgeous day with
us in the white villages of the Alpujarras. First stop in the Valle de Lecrin, Niguelas; its history and charm will surprise you. This stop includes an olive oil tasting workshop. Second stop is the Museum of the Alpujarras in Bubion, where you’ll learn what our homes and traditional way of life was like in the villages of the Sierra Nevada. Taste a wide variety of chocolates in a family run factory, visit curative spring waters with natural iron deposits, see a traditional loom, and many more surprises.
