Route de la fleur d’oranger
Olive oil tourism in Niguelas is unique both in its beauty and location. We have one of the oldest irrigation systems in Europe, channeling water down from the high mountains and running it through the old town of Niguelas, nourishing cisterns, mills, and fields. In the town centre you’ll find the uniquely preserved “La Laerilla mill” museum, which offers a captivating glimpse into our rich olive oil heritage.
The Alquimia Verde farmland lies just a short walk away from the village centre. It’s a sanctuary of centennial preserved Nazari olive groves that grow alongside newly introduced varieties of olive trees.
A few meters away we can also visit the “Navarro Garcia” mill where we produce our olive oil. This distinguished mill has been awarded the best organic OOVE for 3 consecutive years at the international competition in Lisbon.
